About Wendy J. Cook Communications, LLC
In 2007, after relocating to Eugene, Oregon, Wendy founded Wendy J. Cook Communications, LLC (WJCC) to offer corporate communication services to the passively minded advisor community. Like you, she is a strong advocate for the inherent value that a fee-only, passively minded Registered Investment Advisor model offers advisors, their clients … and her own portfolio. Wendy also shares your passion for building good, solid business based on good, solid advice.
Wendy began a career in the early 1980s in tech support, but quickly discovered that her interests were in translating technese into understandable English. A corporate communicator was born — taking on subjects from library automation to consumer goods to health sciences.
In 1998, Wendy became Director of Communications for the Buckingham Family of Financial Services and, ever since, has dedicated her professional interests to advisor firms who implement their strategies with Dimensional Fund Advisors and similar low-cost, passively managed fund families.
Wendy’s pro-bono, community interests include:
- American Association of University Women (AAUW), Eugene-Lane County board/treasurer
- The Nature Conservancy, volunteer
- Willamette Valley Greyhound Lovers, volunteer
- Oregonians for Water, Parks & Wildlife, county coordinator
- Holly Hills Improvement Association, past president
- YMCA Literacy, tutor
Wendy holds a bachelor’s degree cum laude in history, minor in Russian from Washington University in St. Louis. In addition to being an avid writer and reader, she enjoys hiking, bicycling, motorcycling (back-seat driver), and generally marveling at Oregon’s countless natural wonders. Wendy and her husband Tom also are proud servants to their greyhound Pearl, who is happy to live anywhere, as long as her treat jar remains nearby.
